4 Beam Expender
Beam expander is derived from the Galilean telescope which usually has one
negative input lens and one positive output lens. The beam expander's primary function is
to optimize spot size at the focusing lens.The beam expander incorporates two lenses with
a spatial filter to provide the highest beam quality. |

Precise X-Y-Z alignment Accepts a range of pinholes and microscope objectives .In
order to transmit only the fundamental gaussian output of a laser it is common practice to
spatially filter the beam. The beam is focused onto a pinhole and then allowed todiverge
or be recollimated. |

Spatial Filters are designed to be used with lasers to "clean up" the
beam. Often times a this system does not produce a beam with a smooth intensity
profile.Spatial filter is used to remove the unwanted multiple-order energy peaks and pass
only the central maximum of the diffraction pattern. |
